Apple has launched the new Mac Pro with eight cores and a new system architecture that delivers up to twice the performance than its predecessor. The new Mac Pro combines two of the new 45 nm Intel Xeon Quad-Core processors running up to 3.2 GHz, with new graphics cards and up to 4 terabytes of internal storage.
According to Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide product marketing at Apple, this is the fastest Mac ever created. The 8 cores Xeon processing power at 3.2 GHz, Front Side Bus of 1,600 MHz and 800 MHz memory, the new Mac Pro uses the fastest Intel Xeon architecture on the market.
The Mac Pro is the most scalable Mac so far manufactured by Apple, with four bays for hard drives internal direct connection without wires, which allow installation of four Serial ATA hard drives of TB 1, totaling 4 TB of internal storage, plus support SuperDrive for two optical drives. With the help of optional SAS drives optional SAS of 15000 RPM which can provide up to 250 MB/s performance disk of I/O in RAID 5 configuration.
