Windows Vista Provides An Increase In Its Adoption Curve

In a recent study that examines the dynamics of the global market for Windows, IDC says that “Windows Vista has gained attention for the wrong reasons.” While some versions say that Windows XP to Vista will not exceed, or soon will leave the market, IDC , in their latest study, did not support this view.

IDC ensures that Windows Vista has had a normal curve of adoption, has found that despite certain limitations in their adoption phase, as the act of entering a mature market for PC’s that it has decided not to upgrade their equipment immediately. In October 2006, the firm found that Windows Vista would represent 34% of sales of consumer sector business group of Windows, while the results meant in 2007 to 36%. In the business sector, Vista represented in 2007 18% of total sales.

Another of the finding resultings in the IDC study is that Windows Vista has features for convincing the consumer and corporate sector, which could boost the adoption in the long term, which already is being observed with Windows Vista Home Premium version that has exceeded the IDC expectations in its placement level consumption.

“Looking ahead, we expect that 2008 will mark the beginning of a curve adoption of Windows Vista much more pronounced, especially in the business side, especially now that Windows Server 2008 was launched,” concluded IDC.
